June is Infertility Awareness Month, a time dedicated to recognizing the millions of individuals and families navigating infertility and pregnancy loss. While these experiences are more common than many people realize, they can also be some of the most isolating.
Infertility is often a journey carried quietly. The doctor’s appointments, difficult conversations, waiting periods, disappointments, and unanswered questions are rarely visible to the outside world. Because of that, many people facing infertility find themselves feeling unseen during one of the hardest times of their life.
Awareness matters because it helps break that silence.
It reminds us that support doesn’t have to come only after a major milestone or announcement. Sometimes the most meaningful acts of care happen in the middle of the journey, during the moments when someone is simply trying to keep moving forward.
Infertility Is More Common Than Many People Realize
When we talk about infertility, it’s easy to assume it’s something that affects only a small number of people. The reality is much different.
According to the World Health Organization, 1 in 6 adults globally experience infertility at some point in their lives, roughly 17.5% of the population. (who.int)
Yet despite how common infertility is, many people still experience it in silence. The emotional toll can include grief, anxiety, stress, isolation, and stigma, making support from friends, family, and community especially meaningful.
For something that impacts so many people, infertility remains surprisingly invisible. That’s why awareness months like this one matter. They create space for conversations, understanding, and reminders that no one should have to navigate this journey alone.
When You Don’t Know What to Say…
One of the biggest challenges friends and family members face is knowing how to support someone experiencing infertility. People want to help, but they’re often afraid of saying the wrong thing. As a result, many say nothing at all. The truth is, support doesn’t require perfect words.
A simple reminder that someone is loved and not alone can make a meaningful difference. Small gestures of care can help create moments of comfort during an otherwise difficult time.
That’s the idea behind our Infertility Support Kynd Kit, a new and impactful kit that we’re highlighting again as our ‘Kit of the Week’.
Designed with Care
Created with input from individuals with lived experience and guidance from fertility advocates, this kit was thoughtfully assembled to offer comfort, encouragement, and a gentle reminder that support exists.
Inside, recipients will find:
Comfort + Rest: Calming tea, Fuzzy socks, Hot/cold compress pack, Soothing face mask, Tin candle
Reflection + Hope: Gratitude journal, Wildflower seeds, Sun-catcher
Connection: A personalized note of encouragement written by someone who cares
Each item was selected with intention, creating space for self-care and moments of peace on both the difficult days and the hopeful ones.
Awareness into Action
Awareness is important, but action is what helps people feel supported.
This Infertility Awareness Month, consider reaching out to someone who may be walking this journey. You don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need the perfect words. You simply need to show up.
You can send a kit directly to someone you care about, build kits with friends, family, or coworkers, or donate completed kits so they can be distributed to individuals who could use a reminder that they’re not alone.
